Youth Services:

Community Center

Evergreen Villages Community
Center Program

The Community Center provides economically disadvantaged children and youth who live in Evergreen Villages, a 180 unit HUD-supported apartment complex, with a safe place, caring adults and constructive activities that encourage positive social, emotional, and cognitive outcomes.

The center serves children attending Garfield Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School and Capital High School. Activities and programs are designed to increase academic success and social skills, build nonviolent conflict resolution skills, and prevent violence, tobacco and other drug use.

Children and youth learn how to work productively with others, exercise personal responsibility, and set and meet high standards and goals for themselves, building important skills for school, work, and life success. Additional services, resources and referrals are provided for families.
