Youth Volunteer Opportunities

The Youth Volunteer Resource Guide offers information about local teen volunteer opportunities.

 

Evergreen Villages Neighborhood Center

Would you like to help in our after-school program? You can make a positive difference by assisting elementary age through high school youth with their homework; reading; and recreational, cultural, and social activities.

 

Program Hours:
Generally 2:30 pm – 6 pm M-F while school is in session
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. M-F during the summer.

 

Location: Evergreen Villages, 505 Division St NW Olympia, WA 98502

 

Tutoring Programs

Tutors are needed to work with elementary age children during homework time assisting with basic homework, reading, and playing educational games. The time commitment can vary depending upon your availability.

 

McLane Elementary After-School Tutoring Program

Delphi Road in Olympia

3:30 pm– 5:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays during the academic year

 

Chambers Prairie Elementary After-School Tutoring Program

Virginia Street (just off Yelm Highway) in Lacey

2:45 pm– 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the academic year

Tobacco Prevention

The Tobacco Prevention program has volunteer opportunities to:

Serve as a member of the Advisory Board, providing oversight and strategic planning. Meets quarterly.

Assist at health fairs to educate the community regarding tobacco use and secondhand smoke.

Serve as a coalition member of CAT—Communities Against Tobacco—working to address tobacco related health disparities. Meets the first Thursday of every month.

 

Mentoring

Did you know that many youth are currently waiting for a caring adult to volunteer? So expand your universe and mentor a child.

Volunteer at TOGETHER!

If you want to help in TOGETHER!'s main office, we need volunteers to assist with projects on an as-needed basis. These include mailings, fundraising activities, special events, office work and public relations projects, including our newsletter.
