Family Partnership Alliance logo

The Family Partnership Alliance provides a way for parents and families to network with one another when their youth are visiting each other’s property.

Each parent in this alliance pledges to make every effort to prevent youth access to alcohol, tobacco and other drug, and that any youth gatherings in their home will be alcohol- and drug-free.

The Pledge

To support the health and welfare of youth, and the laws of the State of Washington, by not selling, giving or otherwise supplying alcohol to anyone I/we know to be under the age of 21 while in our company, home or care.

To actively chaperone/supervise all gatherings or parties of youth in my/our home or on my/our property, or ask another responsible adult for help to do so.

To not allow the possession or use of alcohol, marijuana, other drugs or violence by youth in my/our home or on my/our property.

To welcome the calls or visits of parents/guardians of children coming to my/our home, and to assist them with details regarding times, location and supervision.

To call the parent/guardian(s) of a child if a problem arises while the child is in my/our care.

To make myself/ourselves available via telephone while a gathering involving children under the age of 21 is taking place on my/our property.

To share the contents of this pledge with everyone in my/our family.

To do what I can to ensure the welfare of any minors on my/our property to the best of my/our ability, including preventing from driving or leaving, and notifying the parent/guardian of, any youth I/we believe has consumed alcohol or used drugs of any kind.

To set expectations for my/our child(ren) that I/we know where they are going, whom they are with, what their plans are and when they are to return home.

Will the chaperones be visible to the youth during the event?

Do you have our phone number?

When do you expect things to wrap up?

What is the plan if a youth shows up with drugs or alcohol?
