Volunteer Opportunities

Evergreen Villages Neighborhood Center
Program Hours: Generally 2:30 pm – 6 pm M-F while school is in session; 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. M- F during the summer.

Location: Evergreen Villages, Division Street NW, Olympia

  • Assist with homework time and reading. Ages range from elementary age through high school.
  • Assist with recreational, cultural, and social activities.

McLane After-School Tutoring Program
(Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays during the academic year)
Horizons After-School Tutoring Program
(Tuesdays, Thursday s during the academic year)
Program Hours: 3:30-5:00pm
Locations: McLane Elementary, Delphi Road, Olympia
      Horizons Elementary, Rainier Road, Lacey
  • Tutors are needed to work with elementary age children during homework time. Activities include assisting with basic homework, reading, and playing educational games.
  • Assist with recreational activities that support social skill-building as well as academic growth.
Time commitment can vary depending upon your availability.
Tobacco Free Thurston County (TFTC)
  • Serve as a member of the Advisory Board, providing oversight and strategic planning. Meets quarterly.
  • Assist at health fairs to education the community regarding tobacco use and secondhand smoke.
  • Serve as a coalition member of CAT—Communities Against Tobacco—working to address tobacco related health disparities. Meets the first Thursday of every month.

Main Office
  • Assist with projects on an as-needed basis. These might include mailings, fundraising activities, special events, office work (filing, etc.)
  • Assist with public relations projects including newsletter production.
